Service terms

What RESPMax provides, what its estimates leave out, and what to check before requesting a withdrawal.

The planning service

RESPMax estimates Educational Assistance Payment (EAP) withdrawals from an RESP. EAP means grants and investment earnings, separate from your contributions. The app compares a bounded set of schedules using your answers and stated assumptions.

The current Quick Plan supports individual and family RESPs with up to four named beneficiaries and dated 2026 tax estimates for Ontario residents only. Every beneficiary must have confirmed Ontario tax residence on December 31, 2026. Other, uncertain or mixed residence plans cannot receive an estimate in this beta. Group plans and larger families are not supported.

Complete the questionnaire without an account, then sign in to calculate and view the withdrawal estimate. This preview does not offer saved plans, trials or payments. Your answers and estimate are temporary and can be lost when you reload or leave the questionnaire. Quick Plan sign-in uses a tab-only session-storage copy of your answers and place. The app accepts it for 30 minutes and attempts to remove it on return or when an expired copy is opened. It may remain in your browser while you are away from RESPMax; expiry is not a timed deletion guarantee. This handoff does not save a plan to a database.

Estimates and their limits

Results are educational planning estimates, not individual tax, legal, investment or financial advice. RESPMax does not hold your money, prepare a tax return, submit a withdrawal request or approve what a provider can pay.

The calculation does not cover your complete tax situation. Tuition and other credits, CPP/EI adjustments, income-based benefits, other income, grant composition and provider-specific requirements can change the actual outcome. Future income and investment growth are assumptions; future-year schedules may reuse the current rules.

Potential savings vary by household and are not guaranteed. No withdrawal amount, tax saving, investment return or provider approval is guaranteed. The model does not prove a globally optimal schedule, equal funding among beneficiaries, or that all EAP can be used. Review the date, rules, inputs and warnings on every result.

Before making a withdrawal

  • Check the contribution and grants-and-earnings balances against a current provider statement.
  • Include the applicable EAP payment history from other RESPs. Annual income totals and dated provider payment limits are different questions.
  • Confirm enrolment, qualifying study periods, expenses, grant restrictions and payment room with your RESP provider.
  • Check tax credits, benefits and other effects the estimate does not calculate; seek professional advice where needed.

Every result is a dated estimate. Recheck your facts when circumstances change and before a later year’s withdrawal. New calculations require a supported rules update for that year.

Your information

Enter accurate information and use another person’s information only with appropriate permission or authority. Being a parent or RESP subscriber does not itself authorize every use of an adult student’s personal information. Use a nickname where sufficient.

Read the privacy notice to understand how Quick Plan handles your answers and sign-in information.

Availability and responsibility

The service may need maintenance or correction. Keep a copy of information you need and allow time to confirm a payment with your provider rather than relying on access at a withdrawal deadline.

Estimate limitations do not waive rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived. These terms do not impose an arbitration requirement, customer indemnity or liability cap. Material changes to service terms or privacy practices will need appropriate notice and review before taking effect.

Use support for a service problem or an apparent calculation error. Describe the issue without sending unnecessary household financial information.
